BE A PART OF THE FIRST DATA-DRIVEN INSIGHTS HACKATHON IN INDIA

About Us

The Digital Identity Research Initiative at ISB is excited to announce the PULSE Insights Hackathon as part of the IndiaPulse@ISB initiative. This weeklong hackathon is an opportunity for you to work with our team of researchers and distinguished faculty at ISB to develop powerful insights on the most pressing issue in the country.

At ISB, we have been building Pulse as a tool to lead the second generation of data driven, evidence-based governance initiatives across the country. Using a combination of spatial and temporal data from reliable and recognized sources, we develop interesting insights on various social and economic domains. Each week, we create and publish insights along with a short debrief video, focusing on economic activity, jobs, health, and skills.

Through this virtual hackathon, we are inviting the larger public to collaboratively develop insights with our team of researchers and faculty members over the next week. The hackathon is open to the general public, including members of the ISB community – students, researchers, alumni, and faculty. We would like to especially encourage machine learning and artificial intelligence enthusiasts, policymakers and data geeks to join us in this exciting weeklong competition.

Registration

Individuals or Teams of up to 4 people are allowed to register using the link bit.ly/PULSEhackathon or scan the QR code on the left

Schedule

The hackathon will be conducted entirely virtually over a period of one week – from 15th of April to 22nd of April 2021.

Detailed Schedule will be released on the 15th of April 2021

Participants will be primarily presented with questions of pertinent interest sourced by the DIRI team from our government partners – state governments, economic development boards and investment support agencies at the state and central level.

The first two days will be for ideation – support will be provided by distinguished faculty at ISB and sessions will be scheduled to discuss the potential approach to solving problems in the hackathon. After ideation, teams will be provided all the datasets of relevance to the particular problem they choose and will be given a period of 5 days (including the weekend) to come up with solutions to the problems as a standalone application/dashboard.
